FISSION.

Born out of an idea in Omaha, Nebraska. FISSION was formed in order to create and explore new avenues of music. With each of the musicians having strong ties to Black American Music, it was no surprise that they all were eager to continue creating new music after just one rehearsal. The members of the group include Kendall Wooden, Henry Tomsu, Cole Kempcke, Andrew Sprague, and Salvador Becerra. FISSION has already garnered attention in Omaha, Nebraska playing ay venues like the Jewell, the Holland Center, The B Bar, the Down Under Lounge, and Pageturner’s Lounge. They have also performed at the Omaha Summer Arts Fesitval, Porchfest, and the UNC Greeley Jazz Festival. FISSION has been nominated for “Best Jazz” at the OEAA’s three years in a row and received praise for their debut studio album “FREQUENCIES”, released in July 2023. FISSION aims to push the envelope by synthesizing elements of genres like Hip-Hop, Electronic, Rock, R&B, Bebop, and Avant-Garde in order to achieve a unique and mesmerizing sound.
