About Kendall Wooden

Kendall Wooden is an up-and-coming musician that lights up every room with his passion for music. Aside from his intense devotion to God and his family, music is his ultimate purpose and passion. He discovered his love for music at age of nine during his first drum set lesson. Not only did he fall in love with music, but he became fascinated with percussion and the depth of the art. From that point on, Kendall and music were synonymous and his commitment to learn and perfect his craft increased and was evident. Kendall is now pursuing a music performance career and working toward his music performance degree at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). While at UNO he has had the privilege to participate in the Heartland Philharmonic Orchestra, playing alongside the Omaha Symphony. He has also performed with the UNO Symphonic Wind Ensemble which toured through both Omaha and Chicago and has even debuted new works! With UNO’s percussion ensemble Kendall has had the opportunity of working with new composers such as Sean William Calhoun; he has also been able to perform contemporary new works such as Carom and Accumulation by Sean William Calhoun. Along with performing with these distinguished groups, he’s had the honor of working with musicians such as Steven Schick, Svetoslav Stoyanov, Hannah Weaver, Gary Hobbs, Tomm Roland, Pete Zimmer, Ben Markley, Dave Stryker, Andy Martin, Robert O’Brien, and Jack Rago. Outside of school, Kendall is the drum set player for Edem Soul Music and reappearing drummer/percussionist for Robert Glaser’s Urban Delight and the Horns of Plenty. He also composes for his jazz fusion group the Fission Quintet. As he moves forward with his dreams, Kendall keeps God at the forefront of all he does, ever grateful for his daily blessing.
